Attending Top University
He Jingqi and Chen Xinyi, both students, had mediocre exam results in the previous year and did not have outstanding scores. Nonetheless, with clear academic planning and a suitable growth path for themselves, they both chose the International Study Program of our Senior High School Department.
To be concrete, after entering the overseas study program, under the small-class, meticulous teaching, the heuristic classroom guidance, and the meticulous care from the teachers, they gradually let go of their shyness and built up their confidence. Meanwhile, their originally reserved personalities began to change, and they became more willing to express themselves and enjoy showcasing themselves. In the warm and inclusive atmosphere, their unique qualities were gradually stimulated, fully demonstrating their strengths and charm.
What's more, when they arrived in the United States, the two students did not slack off due to their past achievements. Instead, they worked diligently and made up for the gap with high self-discipline and continuous efforts. For instance, in class, they focused on in-depth study, and after class, they actively enhanced their academic abilities. Therefore, they gradually solidified their foundation and improved their comprehensive competitiveness, eventually standing out in the fierce application competition and both transferring to the University of California, Berkeley.
Furthermore, the University of California, Berkeley, as a world-class public university, consistently ranks among the top universities globally. Its admission standards are extremely high. In recent years, the overall admission rate of the university has been around 11%, and the admission rate for international students has been as low as 6% or so. Thus, the competition for popular majors is particularly fierce, with tens of thousands of outstanding students from around the world vying for admission each year. It is truly not easy to get accepted.
In a nutshell, two students have demonstrated through their own experiences that the starting point does not determine the destination. The right path and persistent effort can also lead to a stunning comeback. Congratulations to He Jingqi and Chen Xinyi. May they continue to write wonderful stories at Berkeley and move towards a brighter future!
